The Caribbean, is a fabulous and exotic destination that has, over the years, become popular with the mass tourist market, as holidays there are now much more affordable. Consisting of hundreds of islands, it is located east of Central America, with some of the islands lying in the Caribbean Sea, while some have eastern coastlines that border the Atlantic Ocean. With a tropical and sub-tropical climate you are assured of hot sunshine and pleasantly warm seas. Just be aware that the more northerly islands lie in the hurricane belt. The hurricane season lasts from June to November but peak in August and September. At some point in their history, all of the islands were colonies of European nations, and their culture and language reflect this. Caribbean holidays can be as relaxing or as active as you wish as the islands, without exception, provide a wide range of sporting activities and recreational facilities. The beaches are beyond compare. Shady palms sway in the breeze while turquoise waters gently lap white glistening sands. Find a spot on an empty beach and you could make believe you were a castaway.
