Paphos Travel Tips
Why Go To Paphos?
Paphos holidays have much to offer. With good hotels and superb restaurants, plenty of shops and a lively nightlife, a range of recreational facilities and sightseeing opportunities, they are sure to please.
Who Is Paphos Popular With?
Paphos holidays attract all age groups as the resort and the surrounding area really do have something for everyone. The variety of leisure pursuits and the many tourist attractions keep everyone happy.
When To Go To Paphos
Paphos holidays can be taken from April until October with temperatures rising into the thirties at the height of the season. Early and late season, when temperatures are lower, attract couples wishing to avoid the exuberant atmosphere of the peak summer months. The town is also popular during the mild winter months, with those seeking an escape from the dreary days at home.
Paphos Nightlife
Although there are numerous lively evening venues, Paphos nightlife is not over exuberant. The liveliest place is down by the medieval harbour and there are some delightful venues in the old town.
Paphos Shopping
Paphos shopping will satisfy most visitors as there are plenty of boutiques, specialist stores, department stores and craft shops. Many of the latter are regulated by government who wish to keep the exquisite island crafts alive. Lefkara lace, jewellery, pottery and embroidered linens are all popular buys. Kato Paphos is a good place to find holiday gifts and souvenirs.
Paphos Eating
Paphos eating caters for even the most conservative of British palates. The restaurants serve everything from traditional island fare to fast foods and international cuisine. If you wish to begin the day with a full English breakfast, or if Sunday isn't Sunday without your roast, there'll be a restaurant providing it. It would however be a shame to miss out on the flavours of Cyprus. If you are new to island cuisine, order mezze, the equivalent of tapas, and you'll be served a variety of snack sized local dishes. Fish dishes, always fresh and delicious, also offer good value. Local wines are as pleasing to the palate as they are to the purse.
